The whole collection include a series of brooch and a necklace. For this project, I collect a lot of peeling fragments from walls and use them as one of the material to create my pieces. I combine the wall pieces with wood and metal to create this collection.
This brooch reflects the relationship between the city which people witness and the "invisible city " which carries the story and real information of the city. I use copper to cut the skyline of the city and oxidize it to distinguish it from the other part. The wall piece with copper lines on is hiding behind the city cucoloris. The city cucoloris represent the buildings you see in the modern city and the wall piece represents the "invisible city" which is mixed with our real city but hiding behind. |

When you look at the whole piece, you may feel a little bit lost. You don't know which is really the main part of the work, the wood frame or the wall pieces? When you are walking in the lane, most of the things you see are the buildings, but the invisible things are hiding behind with just a little part showing up. They are mixed together. Only if you are looking for them carefully can you clearly understand the story behind .
The feeling this piece brings you is almost the same as what you can feel when walking in the lane. If you look at it carefully, you may see all the wall pieces clearly, but if you just look at it roughly, you may just see the wall piece hiding in the frame. Material: Copper, Peeling pieces from walls
